As a long time seller of metaphysical and magickal goods, I have had this question posed to me on many an occassion. Here is the truth!

Real Magick is the use of the energy that is all around us, directed for a purpose. You can very effectively use an exquiste $2,000 wand, but will attain similar results with a twig you find in your back yard! The way to tell if it will work for you is that you must feel that it is a meanignful object!

Picture it this way. Magick is like fishing. You intend to catch a fish. You know that the fish is already there and already exists. You know that to have it, you simply need to hook onto it and reel it in! There are any number of ways you can accomplish this. Perhaps you enjoy diving in and grabbing it with bare hands. Or perhaps you use the latest in fishing technology and cast your line this way.

See the paralells? Some folks do nothing more complicated than visualization, affirmations, meditation, or pray to work their magick (also known as manifestation and by a thousand other names, a different one in alsmost every culture in the World!). Others light a candle, do rituals, or cast a spell. Each does so with “tools” that are meaningful to them.

So, will that beautiful new wand , or amulet, or candle, or oil, or whatever you may have your eye on work Magick for you? If you wish it would, but doubt it… More than likely not! If you truely feel it will… it will!
