What do dogs REALLY think about dog toys?
Garden guide February 18th, 2008
Hi, my name’s Kirby. I’m a Boston Terrier. I might look small, but I’m tough, see. You got a problem with that? I didn’t think so!
I live in a house with this other dog. Some kind of sheepdog. Got a weird accent; English I think. She’s bigger than me and sometimes she tries to push me around. So then I gotta put her in her place. Well, she’ll learn?she’ll learn. Then there’s these two other animals in the house, too. They’re weird, they only have two legs. And they’re not sleek and low to ground like me. They stand up?I don’t what they are. I just call them the ‘uprights.?nbsp;I don’t know what they’re doing here, either. I think they’re, like, my servants. They give me food, open the door for me, clean up after me?not bad! But the best thing they do is they give me these toys. Mostly fuzzy, soft toys. They come in all different sizes and shapes, like different kinds of animals and plants and stuff. Between you and me, I could care less what they look like, but I think the uprights think they’re cute. Well, whatever floats their boat?know what I mean?
Anyway, I love when I get these toys. I love to rip ‘em apart?tear ‘em to shreds?turn ‘em to nothing but fuzz. I get off on pulling all the stuffing out of them and spreading it all around the house (drives the uprights crazy)! And I really love when they have this little plastic thing in them that squeaks when you bite it. My favorite thing is when I get the plastic thing out and hide it somewhere around the house. I have this game where I try to see how fast I can tear a toy to pieces. Once I destroyed one in 15 minutes! Can you believe it? Hey?nbsp; I told you I was tough! Then one day the uprights gave me this new kind of toy. I think they called it a ‘tuffie’… sounds like my kind of toy. I figured, 20 minutes, half an hour tops. But I couldn’t rip it! At first I wasn’t so sure I appreciated that, but then I figured, hey, when you’re as tough as I am, you don’t get challenged too often. This was something I could really sink my teeth into. Ha! Get it? Ha ha! I’ve been working on it now for a couple of months and it’s still in one piece, but don’t worry, I’ll get it. Hey, I’m Kirby, the Boston Terrier?nbsp; ‘nuff said!
Oh, hey, one of the uprights just went into the kitchen. I gotta go see if they’re making my dinner. Keep in touch?I’ll let you know how I’m making out with the tuffie.
Bye!
