Trick Out your iPod: The Best iPod Accessories
So you have an iPod just like everyone else… Stand out from the crowd
by customizing your iPod and tricking it out with some of the hottest
iPod gear and fashion available. Whether you are looking to make the
ultimate fashion statement, turn your iPod into a kicking stereo
system, or just protect your favorite gadget - this is your guide to
ultimate iPod accessories. A note though - there are now many
variations and models of the iPod - the iPod, the iPod Mini, the iPod
Shuffle, the iPod Nano, etc - just be sure that the accessory fits your
specific model and make:
iPod Screen Protector
This should be the first purchase of any iPod owner! Protect your
iPod’s LCD screen with one of this adhesive (and removable) screen
protectors - they are available all over eBay and can be bought for
almost nothing.
The iPod iSkin
The iPod iSkin is the original iPod carrying & protective case.
Made of silicon / rubber, iSkins come in almost any color - including
glow in the dark versions. They also are made for specific generations.
Typically, any iSkin purchase will come with a screen protector and a
belt clip which is great for working out and traveling. The best part
of the iSkin is that it provides protection while still giving access
to the click-wheel and buttons.
The iPod Shuffle iSkin
The same great product fit specifically for the iPod Shuffle.
The Griffin AirClick
The Girffin AirClick attaches to the top of the iPod and provides
wireless, five-button remote control that supports up to 60 feet. The
AirClick also come equipped with an attached belt clip and a cradle.
Apple iPod Shuffle Armband
If you own an iPod shuffle, you’ll want the armband. If you frequent
the gym or the track, you’ll want the iPod Shuffle Armband. There are
many varieties available on eBay - if you are looking for the armband
made by Apple, pay attention to the listing’s details as there are many
other makes for sale.
Griffin iTrip
Using the Griffin iTrip, its easy to connect your iPod to your car’s
audio system simply by transmitting through the car’s FM tuner. The
sound quality isn’t as good as listening to your iPod directly, but the
Griffin iTrip makes any commute or roadtrip more manageable.
Altec Lansing inMotion iM3
Perfect for the office or bedroom - the Lansing inMotion iM3 speaker
system is superb. Weighing only 15 ounces and capable of serious
volume, the inMotion iM3 also comes with a wireless remote and, for the
price, is one of the best speaker systems on the market… willing to
spend more?
Bose SoundDock
The ultimate in iPod speakers and sound. The Bose SoundDock once again
shows that Bose is capable of outputting some of the highest quality
sound with gorgeous, small gadgets. Except to pay $250 - $300 for the
system - but, if you can afford it, you’ll appreciate it!
Sony Earbuds: MDR-EX71SL
For the price, I consider the Sony MDR-EX71SL earbuds to the best on
the market. They can consistently be found on eBay for $20-$30 and last
forever. The sound is fantastic and only outdone by headphone that cost
multiples more than the MDR-EX71SL. The white Sony earbuds are in much
higher demand because they are the same color as the basic iPod… so
if that means something to you, expect to pay more for white!
Of course there are many more iPod accessories - these are just my
favorites. eBay is also a great place to buy basic iPod accessories
like chargers and adapters.
