I wanted a set of clubs that would see me through from beginner through intermediate levels of play someday. I put together an entire set of used Callaway clubs (7 irons, 2 wedges, driver, putter, 3 hybrid woods, bag) using eBay that I’m very happy with. This iron set was the first thing I bought. So for under $500, I’m getting to learn with a set up clubs that would probably be $1400 if I bought them new. These irons seem to be a perfect fit. I’m getting good distance with reasonable control given my skill level. I think these clubs must be very forgiving for me to be getting such good results already. I’m especially pleased with what I’ve been able to do with the short range clubs. I feel completely confident whenever I can get to a position for a short iron shot to the green (not that they all turn out perfectly!). That’s way more of a feeling of control than I expected to have at this point in learning the game.
