If you REALLY think that the new feedback system is supposed to “Look Out for you” - I have a RUDE AWAKENING. This is how the New Feedback system is supposed to KILL the market on eBay.

Picture this… eBay execs sitting in their comfy leather chairs while gazing out on the city view. Exec 1 says to Exec 2 - How are we going to make more money?

The new feedback system is designed to DRIVE UP prices. How you ask? It is obviously meant to ELIMINATE small-to-mid-size e-commerce businesses from being able to lower their prices.

But, what do you mean? Well, with fees low - sales high - and discounts… Sellers could be competitive with pricing. BUT, eBay takes care of their EXTREMELY HIGH volume sellers by the new feedback rule (because when you do 1,000 + orders a month, it is awfully hard not to hit the right new PowerSeller levels) yet if you sell 100 a month… 3 (yes only 3) Neutrals will drop you out of PowerSeller status.

Therefore, High Volume Sellers control the pricing. Allowing costs to go up… supply to go down… and more money to go in eBay’s pocket.

Does it hurt eBay Buyers in any other ways? Of COURSE!

- Sellers knowing they will not be able to attain PowerSeller status only does ONE thing. Drop customer service to lower levels.

It is hard enough to please 98 out of 100 people. Now, with the new feedback people, you are going to get disgruntled, poor-natured people all around. Therefore, sellers will quit trying. A sale is a sale.

I know, personally, I will rearrange my Return policy. Why? Because I know no matter how hard I try… there is no penalty for a cutomer leaving negative feedback.

So… as eBay’s prices and customer service gets worse.. you know who to thank!
