While my current experience doesn’t involve an Ebay shipment, I feel compelled to share it with potential UPS Ground shippers.

I ordered a camper shell door from a manufacturer in Indiana.

When the door arrived in Georgia after having been shipped via UPS Ground, I found that it was damaged–bent on one side.

I complained to UPS and they promised to make arrangements for a local UPS representative to inspect the damage.

But after two abortive telephone calls to my home at times when we were not here, UPS has written the claim off and passed the buck to the shipper in Indiana.

That shipper is in no position to inspect the damage and UPS refuses to send an inspector out.

I am shafted and have to try to make do and repair a damaged door for which I paid a premium price and waited three months.

I strongly recommend that a shipper go to another ground service and avoid UPS Ground.

Their arrogance and indifference in the face of a legitimate complaint about a damaged shipment should represent a red flag to any potential customer.

Avoid UPS Ground service.
