First, like many other aspiring golfers, I have tried several different brands and models of drivers. The only thing that has seperated these drivers for me was two catagories, drivers that hook and drivers that don’t. I never found that driver that really increased my distance that extra 20-30yds that other reviewers had sited for other various brands / models. I usually like to up grade the year after a model launches based on reduced prices, but it has usually been for forgiveness as the clubhead sizes have increased. My time line for drivers has gone Wal-Mart Brand, Original Launcher, Titleist 975-LFE, TM R5. I have not increased distance, except maybe from my Wal-Mart starter. I never drive the ball past my regular distances at my home course….until now. WOW! Finally an up-grade that goes beyond forgiveness. I have driven par 4’s at my home course that I was usually 30-50yds short. The face is super huge and just absolutely bombs it! I am truly looking at breaking 70 this year b/c I am not spraying shots out of bounds and as stated earlier, they are bombs. I am very pleased with this club and even more pleased that this self proclaimed cheapskate stole it off of ebay for only $125 barely used. Do yourself a favor and just try one of these jewels. I know that the closed / slightly closed faces can scare you away, but try it! I will admit, I had to adjust from my old set up for my previous drivers to avoid the hook, but when I finally did it, best results of my golf career. I just can’t say enough about this club and how it has changed my approach. On a side note, the reverse stitch cobra hats are sweet. If you suffer from a frankenstein shaped head like me, this hat actually fits, unlike other golf hats that look like a beanie on my head! Two thumbs up to cobra for this club, very forgiving and long without the new pancake look!
