I thought I’d use them to improve my ball striking and frankly I was intimidated by the thought of ever taking blades to the course. But after 1 practice session I have them in my bag. I shoot high 80’s or low 90’s (to a 15.7 handicap after course rating) and the poorest part of my game has always been irons play from 100+ yards. Now its an area of greater confidence (but still my poorest statistically). These irons feel very soft and the smaller heads promote crisper contact. I haven’t had any problems with slicing or hooking. This is the first set that I’ve been able to hit the long irons well (but you must swing smooth and easy) My distance is about the same maybe a little longer than my Cobra SSi or Callaway x-14’s. If you are quiet with your wrists and can hit a straight shot then blades are for you. They are excellent at holding a line and pretty accurate at hitting a reliable distance. I wouldn’t look at another set of irons after getting these. Never again will I chase the golden game improvement irons. Buy blades they are very playable even for those of us who aren’t low handicappers. The ball flight is high and the landing is very soft. I’ve improved to 5 green’s in regulation average and my misses are greenside not 30 yds short and right.
