How to Unfreeze Your iPod
electronics February 19th, 2008
Occasionally an iPod may freeze or fail to respond to your commands. It happened to me today, when my computer froze and I had to reboot. This can happen for a number of reasons and does not necessarily indicate a serious problem. My iPod simply was frozen at the “Do not disconnect?screen as if it was syncing (but it wasn’t plugged in).Sometimes an iPod needs a restart much like the way your computer needs a reset once in a while. Restarting the iPod is a simple procedure that will not erase any of your music, data files, or customized preferences.
- iPod 1G to 3G: “Menu?and “Play/Pause?
- iPod 4G (includes Photo, Nano, Video, and Mini): “Menu?and “Select?
- Shuffle: Turn it off, turn it on. Done.
Easy stuff. Now when you turn your iPod back on, it should work like normal. No dataloss!
