The best way to trap a skunk is in a “live trap”. It is completely humane and will not hurt the animal.

Depending on the animal you are having trouble with you will depend on what you will use for bait.

You will have to check with your local humane society to see whither or not you can catch and release or if you have to take the animal to the humane society or animal shelter.

To catch a skunk you can use just about anything for lure. The best thing that I have found is sardines or cat food. But if you have many cats around you can also use marshmallows or peanut butter. To move the skunk to a new location you will need a thick blanket or towel to cover the cage. BE SURE NOT TO MOVE THE TRAP AT NIGHT OR THE SKUNK WILL SPRAY!!!

1.Walk up behind the trap after dawn.

2 Drape the cloth over the trap.

3. Carefully pick the trap up and move to location.

4. When you get to the location you wish to release the skunk keep the material on the rear of trap. Gently open the trap door and stand back. The skunk will find its way out the door and you can then retrieve your trap.

When you innitially catch the skunk it will most likely spray..but that is okay, and here is why.

You can make a solution to spray on all surfaces the skunk “stunk up.

TAKE A SOLUTION OF 50% WATER 40% PEROXIDE AND 10% BAKING SODA MIX WELL IN A SPRAY BOTTLE AND COVER ALL PLACES THE SKUNK SPRAYED.

Hopefully you will not have to use this but if you do now you know what to do in this case.

It will also save you anywhere from $35-$100 that you would have to save on fees that you will be charged for someone else to do it.

Thank you I hope this is very helpful!!!!!
