How to Spot a Fake Motorcycle Auction
Cars & Trucks March 7th, 2008
When searching for a sportbike online its easy to get lost in the hundreds that are listed everyday for sale. Its even easier to be seduced by the amazingly cheap deals that pepper the listings. Here are some quick tips to avoid getting scammed through the internet for a bike:
1. Get the sellers phone number and talk some details over the phone. Win the eBay auction.
2. If the auction is a ‘pre-approved buyer’ only its a good bet that its a spoof auction. Not always, but generally.
3. If you see a brand new bike for a price that is too good to be true– IT IS! Get real people. No one is selling a mint 2007 Suzuki GSXR1000 for 2000.00 no matter what.
4. There are thousands of motorcycles in the USA for sale - why buy one from some arbitrary European country? Stick to the USA.
5. Pay cash and pick the bike up yourself.
These are just some simple tips to keep your money safe.
