Fraud on eBay is very easy
popular books February 27th, 2008
I purchased a $480 item from a seller who did not send item. She did not send tracking number and avoided my emails. I filed as item not received and seller then intentionally gave a wrong tracking number for a previously purchased item that I did receive and tracking number showed clearly that item weighed only 1lb not the expected 6-7lbs for a full length coat. I also sent eBay/Paypal emails from the seller proving she had not sent item as the tracking number parcel was sent on Mar 27 and I received an email Apr 10 from her telling me there was a shipping problem and she would send soon. Of course she didn’t. But INCREDULOUSLY eBay/Paypal have said I received item because they got a tracking number??? I have not received item and not received a refund I am out of pocket $480. BEWARE eBay/Paypal can be easily used for fraud.
My advice to anyone is if you have this problem or similar immediately file a dispute and only communicate with them thro the Paypal dispute area. Do not waste time trying to communicate thro personal emails as I did. Then at least Paypal are able to view communications.
