Found it, now to place it.
I Am Legend February 22nd, 2008
I am, I admit, a Nascar diecast collector. Not only do I collect, but I also talk people into becoming a collector. I guess you could call me a Diecast Pusher, having people from all walks of life fall into the exciting world of Diecast collecting, with-out any hope of returning to a normal, if not boring existence. ..
I believe its all about the placement of your diecast piece. Allow me to explain.
First, you surf on Ebay, all by itself a fun thing to do. But, you have a specific direction your going, its that special missing item that your searching for, the one item that you might have missed last week, but not this week, no way, this time its yours!
Secondly, you find it, Wow! There it is, hello, I have been looking for you, thanks for showing up. Its interesting when you find that elusive item, you have to stare at it for a while, look at all the close-ups, even use a magnifying glass for those fuzzy photos that some folks put up. I have looked upon some finds with emotion that should be saved for my spouse. Thats right, I have broken out in a cold sweat finding those finds, that refuse sometimes to surface and come up for bid.
Thirdly, GET AWAY FROM MY FIND! Those pesky competitors that just seem to want the same thing that I want. I hate them, no, I don’t hate them, yes I do, nooo, I don’t. Yes I’m crazy, I’m a collector.
Fourthly, I finally win the sale, white knuckled to the end. I have beat out 10 crazy people, of course they didn’t know who I was, or how much I was willing to stay in the fight to win my prize. OK, I won, now what??
Fifthly and finally, I bet your glad this is coming to an end, but really, there is a point. Back to my original reason for writing this, PROPER PLACEMENT of my TREASURE! Arriving in the mail a few days later is always an exciting day me. Unwrapping the prize and gazing upon it in all its glory, sometimes I hold it up and say Ahhhaaa, I have you, then I look around to make sure no-one heard or saw me do that. Then comes the most important thing, where to place the item. I usually have cleared a spot for the new arrival, and with great fan-fare place my object in its it chosen spot and gaze at my accomplishment. There you are in my collection, to be enjoyed and looked upon daily. Am I satisfied now, have I found THE diecast that will quench my thirst, for now, yes.
But wait, I look over at the computer, and know that soon I will be searching for that new Holy Grail item that I have to have, to attain that same joy that I get every time that I place my item, in my collection. Enjoy your collection every day, I do!
