FOREIGN SHIPPING FEES
Successful eBay Selling March 20th, 2008
Just a comment to let anyone considering shipping any object of size or weight about the unbelievable costs now associated.
The postal service now considers any package over 13 ounces as a PRIORITY shipment.
THERE is NO slow mail-despite how long it takes to arrive
Packages over 7 pounds fall into a larger fee category, even if its a small item.
IF over 7 pounds and you can fit it in a “Large Priority box” suitable for a couple shirts, or pair of pants. Shipping overseas costs around $35.00, if in a larger box, small suitcase sized, consider fees to the United Kingdom of $45-60. MUCH higher to central Europe and more so to the Orient.
An even larger “oversized” box is charged additional fees.
I recently shipped a guitar to California, from Massachusetts. the cost was nearly $100. A sword to China cost the buyer $135.00
As I understand it there are no longer ships that sail the seas that deliver mail. The pony express rider that once took a 1?stamped letter by horseback, through Indian territory, across the entire country, and delivered the mail no matter what consequences arose must have died.
I hope this helps anyone questioning postage fees.
