Father McGivney Prayer Card Scam
Don’t you hate it when you purchase something on eBay only to realize that you could have gotten it for free? I don’t know about you, but it makes me feel cheated.
This is exactly what is happening with certain prayer cards.
Father Michael J. McGivney founded the Knights of Columbus in 1882 in the basement of Saint Mary’s Church in New Haven, CT.
To mark their 100th anniversary in 1982, the Knights of Columbus brought the remains of their founder, Father Michael J. McGivney from Waterbury back to St. Mary’s Chruch in New Haven, where the founded the order in 1882. There he now rests in a setting in which daily Mass is offered for deceased Knights and prayers are said in his honor.
His cause for sainthood is currently under consideration by the Vatican.
The Knights created several items of devotion to promote the Father’s cause. Among these are prayer cards where were and still are offered to the general public, Free of Charge.
One merely has to contact the Father McGivney Guild through the Knights of Columbus website and these items will be sent at no cost.
There is no need to purchase these items on eBay and no need to support those who is profiting off freely distributed items.
