This is in response to another guide. I personally charge about $1.40 more for shipping. Instead of $4.60, the actual cost, I charge $5.95. This is because Ebay charges us a fee to list an item, paypal charges us a fee to process the money, then we get final valuation fees if the item sells. Then we get an option to relist the item. If it sells the listing is free but if the items don’t sell then we pay the listing fee AGAIN. This can add up to a lot of money at the end of the month. I think Ebay should charge like Half.com does. They don’t charge to list an item and the item stays on until it sells. Then Half.com gets their money only if they item sells. If it works for Half.com why not for Ebay???? I have spent so much money on listing fees and only sold maybe 2 or 3 items that I was in the hole. Ebay got all of my commission. I basically gave those items away. Who is making the money, us or Ebay? That is a no brainer. I understand they are restructing their fees and not charging for gallery photos. It’s about time. Getting back to the subject of shipping charges - the power sellers are just trying to get their money back for all the high fees that Ebay charges. Or some of the people, that I really stay away from, charge .99 for the item and charge $12.00 shipping. They are trying to beat the system by only paying to list a .99 item.

That’s what make the world go around. I only buy from sellers that do not gouge you for shipping charges.
