A couple of months ago I was looking for a horse trailer. When I searched on for horse trailer or stock trailer I was very surprised to find that some very nice trailers were selling for amounts way under their value. Further, there were large numbers of very different trailers all going at the same price. Even stranger, these trailers were listed under odd and inappropriate topics like sewing accessories or salt and pepper shakers. They offered to ship the trailers at no charge in the US. These trailers were in some cases identical to others in other listings. The sellers had good, even great ratings. These sellers wanted people to buy their trailers by sending money orders to place overseas. One in Romania, alleged to have over 60 trailers for sale in the US. The auctions were very quick, often ending in 24 hrs. The sellers did not offer Buy it now through but claimed to have all of s protections. I contacted ’s live help to let them know that it looked like there were series of active ongoing scams. By listing under low value items, there were none of the advisories such as are present under motors.

The reason I’m writing this is stuff like this is stil happening. No matter how nice and how cheap the wonderful trailer, 4 wheeler, computer, camera is don’t send the nice folks in Romania a large money order. I sent a few emails asking questions and the lies piled up! Somebody must be sending these folks money, because there are still quite a few of these fraudulent listings. So far, doesn’t seem to be doing an effective job of weeding these out.

There is no ” warehouse”. Even though I live adjacent to a city where one of the nonexistent trailers was located, I couldn’t get to see it. Not all the sellers were in Romania. One was in England, another was listing prices in Euros. If you engage in a private out of sale you don’t get the advantage of ’s protections.

Bottom line, don’t fall for the scams! Somebody must send money now and then or they wouldn’t still be doing this. Be suspicious, ask questions and please, employees find a way to eliminate this problem. We all value the ability to use without fear. This stuff needs to be excluded.
