Dog Medications

Garden guide February 18th, 2008

After reading a guide about counterfeit pet medications coming in from other countries, I want to share some info with everyone. I have a Saint Bernard & was tempted to purchase his meds through a discount service. After all, the cost IS based on weight & he’s quite the big beast!!!

When I discussed this with my vet, he strongly urged against it. He was willing to match any price I could find online or by mail. This is because REGARDLESS OF ORIGIN, you can’t be certain of a medicine’s formulation or potency. Just because it’s made in the US doesn’t guarantee authenticity.

So ask about this @ your vet’s office! Since most doctors buy in such bulk (direct from the manufacturer) it shouldn’t be a problem for them to match any lower price you may find. Any scrupulous vet would surely put the health of his/her patients over making a few extra bucks on preventative medications.

Long live our pets:-)
