Just out of curiosity, I finally gave in to the relentless advertising campaign for the online “wholesale” supplier and dropshipper Doba, and signed up for the 7 day trial. My membership lasted less than an hour as I looked high and low in the product catalog for anything that resembled wholesale pricing. Now I do understand that businesses that reap the benefits of true wholesale pricing are buying in volume and in most cases, buying direct from manufacturers or distributors. With Doba, you can sell one of an item at auction without actually buying it, without holding any inventory, then pay for itt only if you sell it, keeping the difference. It’s a great concept except, over 75% of the prices for products listed as “wholesale” can be found for a lower price at any of the big box retail stores. Perhaps there a few smaller niche items where prices are closer to wholesale but I wasn’t able to find any true bargains. If you are truly interested in wholesale pricing, I would research specific products and find the best possible supplier on your own.
