I recently read an ad from someone who wanted their poem either etched or bonded to some type of medium. Although I did not get a response back, when I inquired about what type of medium he/she wanted to utilize for their poem. I also asked if they had applied for a copyright for the poem. I can not stress enough how important that it is that you apply for a copyright on any of your works. Most of the copyright applications are approximately $30.00 per application. You can download the application from the internet for free at Copyright.gov You should be able to copy this address and paste in your browser. The Copyright Office will practically walk you through the process of applying for your copyright. Their Front Page is very informative. How to Register a Copyright, Law and Policy, etc. You are even able to search copyright records. So PLEASE, do yourself a favor and protect your precious work before sending it to anyone. If you want to Copyright your Music, it is best to complete an entire CD to send into the Copyright Office. That way ALL of your material will be covered under one copyright for the one fee. Otherwise you will be paying $30.00 per song. If you have plenty of money then this is not an issue. Those who struggle to make ends meet it then the money may be an issue. I hope you find this guide useful. Best of luck to all of you.
