Titleist fairway woods have been around for a long time, and although other clubmakers are experimenting with weight changing and odd shapes Titleist has held true to the classic lines they’ve been known for.

The 975F is a fairway wood that first came out back in the days of the 975D driver, back before gigantic clubfaces were all the rage. The low center of gravity and smaller clubface are not for high handicappers but rather shotmakers who can work the ball to the left and right. The 975F has a shorter shaft than normal 3Ws but this gives more control in my opinion. Combine the shorter shaft with a slightly upright lie angle and this club is great for picking the ball off of tight lies.

This club is great for:

* Working the ball left and right
* Low punch fairway shots
* Low handicappers or middle handicappers looking to elevate their game

This club probably isn’t so great for:

* Teeing up high because of its low profile
* Higher handicappers or beginners who use a 3W because they can’t handle a driver
