Classic convertible warning
Cars & Trucks March 7th, 2008
I was shopping for a convertible mustang a while ago. I came across an ad that showed a Black 67 convertible elenor style mustang with gold stripes in what I would consider high caliber auction shape. The add was for 6,000 and shipping was free and the car was in Italy. Yeah Right. I contacted ebay and they told me the ad was fraudulent and the ad was pulled immediately. A couple of days later the same add showed up again but the car was in Massachussetts. Again ebay pulled the ad. Over the next few weeks the car showed up in Ohio, Las Vegas and California. They are probably working the Ebay classic car circut hard so if it seems too good to be true it is. BE CAREFUL. I have now seen other brand cars with the same scam. I did figure out how they are obtaining ebay users info. They have the page set up to come up with a new log in page when you click on the picture as if you have been logged off but as soon as you log back in on the provided site they have your ebay ID and password. Close out the page and reenter through ebay’s site.
