BEWARE OF FALSE PHOTO CLAIMS

Hello,

I just want to share some limited knowledge that I have about the famous life and history of “Chief” CRAZY HORSE.

Although he remains a popular Native American Indian figure many years after his unfortunate death (killing), “Chief” CRAZY HORSE’S history may include many things, but a photograph of him is NOT one of them.

I have seen many people trying to sell a “photograph” of CRAZY HORSE on Ebay. Let me again say, that there were never ANY photographs taken of Chief Crazy Horse. He never allowed it. He was of the belief that a person lost part of their soul each time a photograph was taken of them. (because one’s image showed up on the paper, there must have been something “taken from them”)

Now, there may be some postcards, or painted pictures depicting a Native American with the name “Chief Crazy Horse” on it, but that is simpy someones perception of what he MIGHT HAVE LOOKED LIKE, put onto a piece of cardboard or canvas. Even the Crazy Horse commemorative stamp is a mere “guess” as to what the great warrior looked like. Those types of pictures or paintings I do not have a particular problem with, and if someone wants to sell something like that, thats o.k., because they are not saying that it is a photograph.

However, when I see some E-bayer’s trying to sell a claimed “photograph” of him, that is where I step in and say “Buyer Beware”, because they do not exist, anywhere. Government historical records and/or documents amassed over the years do not even include such a photo.

So if you ever see someone trying to sell a “photograph” of Crazy Horse on Ebay, please send them a polite message suggesting that they may want to re-list their picture or image without using the word “photograph”.

T.J.M.

P.S. Just another tid-bit…… Crazy Horse was never actually a “CHIEF” either. His fellow warriors all respected him as a Chief, because of his fierce and courageous fighting ability displayed against the encroaching U.S. military, and during times of “negotiations” the whites often referred to him as a Chief, but the truth of the matter is that he never was. He was simply a great warrior trying to live and protect his way of life. I hope you find this helpful and informational!
