Lo Handicapper’s Dream… Titleist 690 CB
Irons, Nike, Ping, Women's Clubs May 31st, 2008
I had been playing ping for years until i tried my buddy’s Titleist 690MB’s. I’m not as good as he is so he suggested that i take a trip up to Golftown and try out the Titleist 690CB.
These clubs are forged, with a progressive cavity back and stiff flexed. That’s it!
They’re setup perfectly for me with the std bounce and lie angle. New grips and the faces were immaculate.
At 300 bucks on ebay, i saved about 800 off the golftown price and i couldn’t be happier. I’m listing all of the other sets that i have on Ebay and couldn’t be happier with these.
These clubs give a low handicapper (7-10) a real alternative to being perfect all the time. They are forged, very playable and they setup like blades. I can’t believe that anyone buys blades anymore when these are available.
Now, the new version is the Titleist 695 CB’s and they’re uglier in my opinion. I think that those ones have larger cavities and they’re not as ‘classic’ looking (to me anyway).
You can find these all over ebay and if you dont mind them having a scuff or two, the Titleist 690CB is UNBELIEVABLE VALUE for your Ebay Dollar.
The driver I bought was a 9d loft with a stiff shaft

I am a begining golfer, so I wasnt sure about the flex. I talked with a friend of mine that I golf with and he said that at $73 for the driver (what a deal) that I could replace the shaft and still be money ahead. After I recieved the driver, I took it to the driving range and MAN was I PUMPED!! First ball off of the tee went about 275 yds straight as an arrow. I was getting about 250 max out of my old driver with a pretty bad slice. 2 buckets of range balls later, I was very satisfied. I was looking for a nice driver but didnt want to spend alot of $$ on a nice driver just to end up messing it up. At the price that I got this one, I thought I would try it. I really figured that a Callaway Big Bertha for that cheap was going to be pretty rough to say the least. When I got it, it looked brand new! I would highly suggest this driver to anyone who wants to add yards and direction to their drives.
Callaway Big Bertha Titanium 2004 Driver Golf Club

I used this club for about 1 season. Its still got that great Callaway feel, the sweet “ping” on impact, and its as forgiving as any previous Callaway driver. This is bigger and therefore, more forgiving than the previous models. For the money, this is definately one of the best buys out there. I used part of my bonus check to buy a newer 460cc model this year, but I’m considering going back. The larger heads all have a thwack sound on impact, which I’m still trying to get used to.
Taylormade 420 Burner adds Distance and Accuracy
Ping May 31st, 2008
I’ve owned the Taylormade 420 Burner in my bag now for 4 months. It has added 20 yards to my drive. I’m a bogey golfer with a 16 handicap. This is the Driver for that golf enthusiast that is a Bogey Golfer that does not want to spend a arm and a leg on the cost. Well worth the ebay prices on the web.
I started selling the 420 Burner about 6 months ago and sad to see the prices going lower and lower… I have also bought a Nike Ignite Driver and I’m more accurate with my Taylormade 420 Burner in my bag, although the Ignite added an additional 5-10 yards to my drive but not as accurate.
GREAT BUY FOR THE MONEY!
