Personalizing your walls with Uppercase Living

Garden guide February 18th, 2008

Make your house a home by personalizing your walls with Uppercase Living. This is a new company but its products are amazing. They have a 145 page catalog of expressions, sayings, verses and you can even customize what you want. This is vinyl lettering and it is truly amazing. I saw it in Southern Living Magazine and I had to find out more. I could not believe all of the wonderful ideas that they had and it is so affordable. You can even use the products for craft ideas. I am so excited about this product. I love to decorate but I seem to run out of new ideas. You have to check this stuff out. Trust me, once you see what Uppercase Living has to offer, you will go nuts over it.

The company has only been around since 2005 but there is a business opportunity to become what is called a “demonstrator”. I am seriously considering becoming a demonstrator because I love the product so much. I have shared this with a few friends and they are just as excited as I am to purchase some and place on my walls. If you have any questions about this or you want the website address, just email me and I will be more than happy to share that information with you.

Chenille

Garden guide February 18th, 2008

1. A soft, tufted cord of Silk, Cotton or Worsted. Used in embroidery or for fringing.

2. Fabric made of this cord, commonly used for bedspreads or rugs. The word is French for caterpillar and the fabric looks hairy. Do not confuse with tufted effects obtained without the use of true Chenille filling.

Button Closure

Garden guide February 18th, 2008

The use of buttons to close the opening of a duvet or comforter cover. This helps to keep the cover closed without any harmful material like a zipper which could get caught on the fabric.

Getting Older Ain’t Half Bad!!!

Garden guide February 18th, 2008

I’ve been working with fine leather since the age of seven. My first job was cleaning saddles and keeping the tack room clean and in order. As a fun past time, I would watch and help my father braid. At that time, I didn’t realize the passion within me was growing for the endless use’s of leather. After I retired as an architect, (at age 65) I needed a hobby. In all honesty, although I loved to work with leather, I never thought it would mushroom as it has. It’s turned out, that I would be up til the wee hours working on an idea. You see, I really never shook the love for this beautiful, natural thing that I could keep building from!

I just kept working, it grew into a need for room of it’s own. (the house was flowing over). So knowing how to build, I added a workshop to my backyard. My wife has now given up the idea of that long vacation, and joined the “team” as my bookkeeper and chief advisor. Suzanne has become the best of all my worlds. She brings cold drinks and food to me if I’m too busy to come in, and she is in charge of the budget. Folks, I have been blessed!

Now to tell you a little bit about the WHATS and WHYS. My granddaughter got a teacup poodle puppy, so I made this tiny little baby blue collar and leash for it! She loved it. And my wife says, gee, John, theres got to be a need for these! Thus, the Petites, that are a very small around braid. Then I got a Newfoundland Hound. Well, I sure wasn’t going to buy a nylon outfit for her. Thus, the “Resistant”. This is a bigger and stronger braid.

Well now folks, my hobby was starting to grow out of my workshop, so my wife, being the smart one on this team, decided to open an . account, plus, being an artist, she designed a sign for the shop. It’s called “Leather Horne”. So, it took 60 years for my passion to bloom.

I have had many special requests this last year, and some are listed on .. I’m very proud of the harness that I design for a lady that wanted a natural source for her dog. So we came to agree on a price and when she came to pick it up, well that was the first time that I was ever tipped in my life. She loves it and I have made two sets of collars and leashes for her since!

I’m working on new ideas everyday, and one of those is dog beds. So far we are keeping them at the small stage. We may be listing an all leather “Patchwork Quilt” one in the near future!

So for any of you that think of an item that you may want us to list, “Bring It On”! I love new ideas and designs!

Stop into my new . store, and just do a little window shopping. We do have a 100% gaurantee for everything we make and sell! THANKS FOR LOOKING, John

so you wanna buy a chanin paintin’ huH?

Garden guide February 18th, 2008

there are some vulgar things you should know about me as an artist. I get off to changing paintings after the auction is over, but doing so, insignificantly while the buyer doesn’t notice. It’s a cruel game of artistic roulette I play as i say goodbye to my masterpieces. I’m selling you an experience, a chance to become part of the artist/patron ecosystem. This isn’t necessarily an investment, there’s no provenance, and my style is painfully retro. You’ll take what I give you and you’ll wear it in your living room, you sloppycunt. Excuse me, I didn’t mean to write that about you but I have too much integrity to erase that.

If you think you have a chanin painting that you’ve haven’t seen in any photo of in my archives, I WOULD LOOOOVE YOU if you’d let me borrow it and photograph it for archival purposes. Hell, I might even treat you to a little private tour of my studio-yunno where the sweetass magic happens.
