Have you experienced this not available stuff?

Beijing Olympics August 22nd, 2008

I am getting the same messages and am also unable to view some of my auction listings. I keep keeping a page that says “item has been canceled or is no longer available”, when I have not canceled any of my auctions! Is anyone else experiencing this tonight? I am also getting a “system error” message on some pages that says to “try again later.”

Who are the bottom feeders?

Beijing Olympics August 22nd, 2008

Let me get this straight.

Sellers can’t charge me more than $4 to ship a record or CD to me soon. What can I say, I don’t buy DVDs or books or video games here.

It costs more than $4 to ship an LP record from East Coast where I live to California with priority shipping, does it not? So ebay wants sellers to charge $4 or less (yes I know, actually they want you to make shipping “free,” so a potential buyers eyes pop out of their head when they see the word “free” on the page.)

Priority mail is either no longer an option or the seller has to do it “free” (raise starting bid/buy it now price)

Please don’t say media mail. Please? (Yes I know I’m not even going to touch the subject of “handling” which I think sellers have a right to charge for if they wish to)

Let me tell you about media mail. I love it. Really. I love getting a box with the corner torn off of it. I love getting a box with a few footprints on it. I love getting a box that looks like it has been sat on. All true. Do you want it FAST? I waited for a record, sent from NY (I live in NJ) for over 1 and 1/2 months. That was the best because I actually bought the album AGAIN thinking “oh well, lost in the mail” only to have the 1st copy turn up a couple days later. In the middle of May. Ordered early April. Media mail.

Why its better to use UPS versus Post Office

Beijing Olympics August 22nd, 2008

Many members often ask me if I could ship there item through the post office to save some money on shipping.  I used USPS for many years prior to switching to UPS and have found UPS to be superior for many reasons. First, tracking a package through the post office is nearly impossible in there ancient system. Second is the most important, if the item is damaged in transit the POST OFFICE WILL NOT HONOR EBAY transactions when filing a claim. What does this mean?? It means if your item is damaged in transit they will determine the value of the item and don’t care what its insured for or what you paid. They will have it appraised by some idiot to determine the value. I had this occur on a typewriter I sold became damaged in transit. They eventually paid for most of the damage, but it was a freaking nightmare that literally took 3 weeks. There is no mistery that major retailers like Sears, Best Buy Etc.. always use UPS. When I buy stuff I prefer to pay a couple of more bucks and have peace of mind and tracking ability. Flat rate USPS box for 10 bucks, tax, insurance it still will run you $12-13 dollars. UPS might run $16, very little savings, but a world of difference in quality. When my customers package gets damaged, UPS calls me and thats it.  My customers don’t have to go fill anything out or call anybody, and my customer is paid promptly. I don’t know of any major retailer that use USPS for there packages.  AND BEWARE OF PEOPLE WHO OFFER FREE SHIPPING, 90% OF THE TIME THEY ARE SHIPPING MEDIA MAIL EVEN THOUGH IT MIGHT BE A SHIRT YOU BOUGHT, so if you don’t mind not having your item insured and waiting up to a month to get it then its fine. Whats my point with all this? You get what you pay for and for a minimal difference you can have peace of mind. Thanks for your time.

Gooooooooooood Moring To you all…………….

Beijing Olympics August 22nd, 2008

You  know I was thinking last night as I lay awake not able to sleep….Kindness, something near and dear to me is like the wind.  You never notice it until it is there.  When there is no wind you just go about your day, but let the wind come up and eveyone notices it…it messes up our hair, it blow over lawn furniture…well you know what I am saying.

Same is true for kindness…when it is not there we just go through our day-to-day and never think about it, but when someone is kind it is as apparent as the wind….only positive!…Be kind today to each other! it is more phunn than the alternative!

As a seller feedback is very important to us!

Beijing Olympics August 22nd, 2008

It let’s us know that you the customer has recieved the item and you are happy. If no feedback was left and there was a problem, how would we know?

I do my best to give customers 120% from the beginning of the sale until the very end. When a customer does not leave feedback it makes me wonder if they ever receieved their item.

I know we all lead very busy lifes, but if you could take a moment an leave your seller feedback they would greatly appreciate it!

If you are NEW to ebay and not sure how to leave feedback for your seller.
