Avoid Searail shipping!!!
Successful eBay Selling March 20th, 2008
Searail should change their logo to “the careless car movers”!
My story is one of many who have had their cars mistreated by Searail (Google “searail problems”) and then been mistreated by the Searail claims department.
Searail took 4 (!) weeks to get my 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid from Montreal to Winnipeg.
On arrival it was evident the windshield was cracked. Scratches were present and the interior was filled with dirt spots as if the sunroof had been left open outside. The left foglamp lens was cracked. To top it off, only a valet key was present. The master keys and remotes were missing, a $630 cost to replace.
Searail’s initial response to my windshield being cracked was that “its not possible”. However their own condition report showed no cracks (or chips) on the windshield prior to shipping. I don’t know what’s possible and what’s not possible but I do know that the windshield became cracked while in their “care”. Only on re-opening the claim following initial refusal to pay for anything did they allow replacement of the windshield alone - subject to a $500 deductible. They would not replace the keys as “we do not count keys therefore we are not responsible for any missing”.
Other customers have recommended Hansen’s. Just don’t trust Searail.
