This scammer did post the VIN in two (2) consecutive eBay ads. Both ads start with “This listing is restricted to pre-approved bidders or buyers only”. He did get me for $2,900.00. I have learned my lesson though. This theft was reported to my local FBI office and the best route for you to report it is to go to i c 3 . gov it is the FBI online center for reporting interstate fraud. Reporting it to eBay I find to be a waste of time. By the time they get around to responding the scam artist is gone and on to his next online ad. IC3 assigns it a case number and does investigate, but they also compile to see how many suckers (like me) were drawn in. If you do get scammed make the report, don’t be embarrassed.
