Age, Stain, coffee stain for prim look!
My World April 4th, 2008
Have you ever wondered how crafters are staining their fabric, or items for that great primitive aged look?
It’s really simple and there are many methods to use.
The easiest to me is the coffee staining method. Mix up 2-3 Tablespoons of instant coffee granules in about 4 to 6 oz. of water, then brush it on the finished item, or spray from a bottle.
To make an item look even more ‘primmed’, while the coffee is still wet, sprinkle on some cinnamon right from the pantry! Rub it in as desired.
You can rush the drying by placing in a 200 degree oven for about 20 min. on a metal pan.
As the item dries, the coffee is drawn to the surface and makes that nice stain that looks like the item is very old and has been dragged down from the attic from days gone by!
