Advice on The Cut of a Diamond
Jewelry & Watches February 17th, 2008
The purpose of this guide is to speak about one of the most overlooked of the four C’s on buying a diamond, Cut. Most of us hear alot about the other C’s such as Clarity, Color, and Carat weight. Cut, however, is one facet that we often do not hear as much about. My recommendation is that if you want to purchase a diamond from anyone consider the following: Ask if the business selling the diamond if they can send or fax you the measurements of the diamond before you were to buy it. This way you can get another opinion as to how good the cut is on the diamond. As of right now, the American Gemological Society or A.G.S. are one of the best at giving the consumer a great Cut analysis on a diamond, as they have the percentages listed on each of their ideal certifications. You can also find them on the web as they give a awesome explanation for what you are looking for in a Ideal Cut.While there are lots of “good deals” on diamonds, to get the best deal on a Diamond make sure that you consider all four C’s equally, before your purchase. Thanks for your time and thanks for reading.
